The Bhairavi of year 2019 : Suffering ennobles you .. makes you a better person !

Dr Christian Barnard, the pioneering cardiac-transplant surgeon, has been influential in me being a medical doctor and not some engineering graduate from IIT. Had decided to be a doctor early at the age 16, after reading a lesson "In celebration of being alive" in English textbook of CBSE standard 10th ! In-spite of being extremely strong in Mathematics and Physics , I chose biology and Medicine because of my passion for serving the sufferers and poor. I have maintained that passion throughout my life as a clinical scientist , clinical researcher and Healthcare Executive.
I posted this "sort of a disclaimer" , because of some general (mis) beliefs that :
1) Doctors take up medicine because they are poor in Mathematics and Physics
2) Doctors become doctors just to make money and lack passion of service , research and innovation

I have tried my best to prove both these (mis) beliefs wrong through my life and career.

Coming to the topic of the blog post, the quote that I remembered and inspired ( or instigated) this final blog post of the year was the following by Dr Christian Barnard :

"Suffering ennobles you, makes you a better person. You don’t become a better person because you are suffering; but you become a better person because you have experienced suffering. We can’t appreciate light if we haven’t known darkness. Nor can we appreciate warmth if we have never suffered cold. It’s not what you’ve lost that’s important. What is important is what you have left.. "

Recently, Dr Shriram Lagoo passed away. He was known "atheist" and a doctor who had given up practice for his passion for theater. He never believed in existence of God and has been an idol/ poster boy of liberals, socialists and atheists. In one of his interviews (that I heard recently), he reminisces about how life is full of suffering and that there is very little happiness in life. He even mentions that life is like a huge mountain of unhappiness and suffering while happiness is small pinch of sand !!
This sentence intrigued me. Made me think if this person was really logical in his acts and thinking or was he depressed and unhappy all along and lacked positivity , good guidance and advice from a mentor ?  Was it his stubbornness that made him suffer all along his life and made him live a life that was more unhappy than happy ? Whatever ... I would not subscribe to his philosophy of life and stick to the philosophy of Dr Christian Barnard, who as a doctor - cardiac surgeon , a religious man who later devoted his life to study of pharmacogenetics , genetics, biotechnology and gene therapy , all in service of the suffering patients and humanity in general !! He was a positive influence to many and a cheer leader to his patients , infused life and happiness to even the young dying children who needed cardiac transplants !
That is how I concluded about these distinct philosophies. For me this is a takeaway from year 2019. It re-emphasizes and re-establishes my long held belief in passionate life , positivity , en-nobbling value of suffering and positive thinking. That is the way I plan to venture further in 2020 !

Goodbye 2019 !  Welcome 2020 !!

From Classicalness to Massicalness : Productization of Indian Classical Music

Change is a constant phenomenon and Hindustani Classical Music is a living example of how the "classicalness" of music has changed over centuries .. initially from Dhrupad to Khayal , imbibing the folk tunes into the classicalness, new rhythms and thekas , newer forms of "light classical music" in the form of thumris , tappas , gazals and bhajans into the concerts of Indian ( Hindustani ) Classical Music.
As a "Punekar" , every December, over last 20 plus years ,I have witnessed this changing form and face in Pune's very own , the world famous festival of classical music , popularly known as "Sawai". The change is pronounced in last 4-5 years. With the advent of social media , penetration of mobile internet to every nook and corner, cheap internet access and more so , WhatsApp which had immense effect on music / music industry and especially Hindustani Classical Music

This blog post is a continuation of the thought process that was initiated in Dec 2018 through the blog : Classicalness Vs Massicalness - A story of Hindustani Classical Music

As I ponder over the basic idea behind starting such festivals like Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav in 1950s , I realize a grim fact that forced musicians to initiate such "marketing" tricks to attract more audience and patrons for the Hindustani Classical Music ! Most of these Classical Music festivals in India were started by musicians themselves to make Classical Music more "accessible" and "popular" among general masses. The gharana gayaki of classical music was limited to "Darbars" and concerts of Princely states until the freedom of India around 1950. Infact , these princely states were instrumental in the growth of gharana gayaki and were the main patrons of all the classical musicians. The rebirth of Jaipur and Kirana gayaki could be attributed to the patronage of princely states of Kolhapur and Mysore respectively.
With the fall of princely states the patronage was lost and these musicians , had to find newer audience to appreciate and pay for their art. Their livelihood was at stake. The emergence of "Natya Sangit" in Maharashtra could be attributed to this initiative to bring classical music near the masses through light classical compositions in dramas ( Natya). The emergence of Gandharva Sangit Mahavidyala to promote classical music was one such step. Active initiatives were taken by various Pandits and Ustads to make classical music appealing to masses , by sometimes diluting it. Pure form of Classical music concerts became rare and each classical music concert was inter-spread with some light classical compositions like thumris , tappas , natya sangit , gazals , qawwalis etc , for commercial reasons.
This lead to disappearance of pure classical genre like the old Jaipur gayaki ( based on three schools of Dhrupad ) and the Dhrupad itself from the concert scene.

The Hindustani classical music is like a flowing river, constantly changing its form from the Dhrupad ,to Khayal of Amir Khusroo to Modern day Khayal of Gharanas to Current mix of Khayal and light classical blend. This transformation is ongoing for ages and the audience is the determining factor that decides the further growth and transformation !
We all connoisseurs are just spectators and unbiased witness to this change and transformation !

Mumbai ,Bombay : The villages trapped in roads , trains and metro !

Mumbai keeps surprising, every time one visits it!
One other identity of Mumbai I realized this time very clearly is that Mumbai is essentially a huge group of very small villages connected together. Mumbai tries to pretend to be modern city simply because of the pace of the immigrant workers and being the center of financial activities. We all realize this but tend to believe that it is a cosmopolitan planned city, which it is definitely not.
I however do enjoy visiting it once in a while to experience the surprises !
During my recent visit , mainly for meetings and conferences, Mumbai surprised me pleasantly at the Juhu's  Silver beach  with the cleanliness and less crowded peacefulness like one experiences in a serene village beach..
Here are some nice pics and short videos of the silver beach near Juhu..(Facebook Album)

Previously I have written about Mumbai / Bombay as it fascinated me with its dichotomy , the spectrum of diversity and transformation .. from Mills to Malls .. from BKC to small coastal villages , the crowded Eastern and Harbor line to the Western suburbs! Everything fascinates and surprises me! I was a "Mumbaikar" for 2 years (1996-98 ) as "worker" for WHO and ICMR but have never dared to be back as resident. I do visit Mumbai now and then for business meetings and conferences and that is enjoyable and surprising simply because the stay is only for few days!!

Here are some of my previous blog posts about Mumbai (since 2014 till date )

Revisiting Mumbai

A Western Trail : Photo-diary of walk along the western suburbs

Bombay : The Mumbai of mill workers .. from mills to malls

Girgaon : The forgotten heart of Mumbai

Bhendi Bazar : The area , gharana , the gayaki

Three part series on History of Mumbai

History of Mumbai : Part I  A quick read compendium

History of Mumbai : Part II

History of Mumbai : Part III

Mumbai is a great place to visit , at least once a year especially for business and meetings. It is meant for "Business", people "exist" and survive here to make money. Living is altogether a different thing! I have seen Mumbai closely since 1996 or so ..very closely. I like it for the way it is, it gives me a good perspective of life. I however feel more proud and blessed that I was born as Punekar, raised in Pune and have been groomed in the culture of Pune. I must mention here that there is absolutely no comparison here. These are two different "cultures" and worlds separated by around 200kms !

Visit to Goa and Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar Samaaroh 2019

Every November finds me in Goa , one of the reasons being the Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar Sangeet Samaaroh. The venue for this year was Ponda's Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir instead of the beautiful Kala Academy of Panjim. This gave me a chance to explore South Goa beaches , Madgaon ( Margaon ) and Ponda region.
The Highlights of my Goa trip of November 2019 were
1) 39th Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar Samaaroh , Ponda Goa 2019
2) Curtain raiser event of symposium on Jaipur Gharana
3) Beautiful beaches of South Goa
4) Exploration of wonderful Madgaon and Ponda area
5) Hospitality of some of the best hotels and restaurants of South Goa
6) Wonderful traditional veg food

Here is a link to the FB album of 2019 Goa Trip

I decided to attend only certain chosen events and concerts during the festival. The important one being the Curtain Raiser event on the gayaki of Jaipur Gharana. Among the concerts I chose the morning concerts on Saturday and Sunday giving a pass to rest.
My favorite performances during the festival were that of upcoming local artist Subhash Parwar , whose style and tonal quality seemed like that of Abhisheki bua. Pt Narendra Nath Dhar 's Todi and Charukeshi on Sarod , Vid Shubhada Paradkar ( who has training from Gwalior, Kirana, Agra and Jaipur gharana ) presenting in Agra Style , Shuddha Sarang and Pancham were notable performances that concluded the morning session.

The morning session on Sunday was special due to performance by Shri Mahendra Toke ( Indore Gharana ) who was trained directly under Ut Amir Khan, presenting Shuddha Sarang and Bhimpalas in the classical Jhumara taal in madhya lay ! The evening session was marked by upcoming young talented artist from ITC Sangeet Research Academy ,Omkar Dadarkar who seemed to have a mix influence of Gwalior , Jaipur and Agra presenting wonderful Bhimpalas and Marwa.
Many clips of these performances could be enjoyed in this FB album here.

The symposium on Jaipur Gharana and gayaki was one of the most interesting , enlightening  and worth attending. It gave an understanding of the intricacies and depth of true Jaipur gayaki and gharana.

For me, the key takeaways from the Symposium on Jaipur Gharana were following :
1) The roots of Jaipur Gharana are in the three "baanis" of Dhrupad gayaki. Earlier singers of Jaipur were Dhrupadiyas and many of the bandishes are derived from Dhrupad bandishes. Even many of the later years Khyaal bandishes have roots in their respective Dhrupad bandishes.
2) It is highly disciplined gayaki and gharana. There are strict rules of even training (Talim) by gurus. The gurus are highly disciplined and strict. No variations are tolerated easily.
3) Alaap , Boltaan , taans is the sequence of progression of Raag, Balance of Sur and taal is critical in the progression.
4) Typically a Raag is not extended beyond 30 mins
5) The taan patterns are "vakra" (twisty) and not "sapaat" ( flat ) , meaning , they are not really in order of arohi or avarohi swar sequences.
6) They have special Jod Raags , Anvat Raags, Mishra Raags that are distinct from the raags that they are made from  e.g  Shuddha Kalyan ( Bhup and Yaman ) , Maru-Bihag , Basanti - Kedar etc

Here are the recordings / Clips from the first part of symposium on Youtube ( 7 short videos ) and the second part of symposium in many short clips on FB album

My views based on symposium :
a) Jaipur gayaki is the "Classical" of the Hindustani Classical Music. It is not easy to grasp , understand or even appreciate unless one is truly immersed in music. Hence many of the classical connoisseurs tend to be fans of Jaipur gayaki in later stage after listening to other gharanas. ( This is definitely the case with myself ! )
b) Jaipur gayaki is an expression in Khyaal but has characteristics of Dhrupad ( may be because of the roots in the three "baanis" of Dhrupad )
c) The traditional bandishes of Jaipur gharana are amalgamation of Dhrupad bandishes with lyrics of Khyaal. They have deep philosophy behind them and are precise in expressing certain philosophical ideas through precise words. The lyrics of bandishes of Jaipur gharana have high philosophical value and are very meaningful but stress the expression of "Bhaav" of the the Raag through musical patterns of aalaap and taans, often short phrases.
d) Jaipur gayaki is truly intellectual musical expression and is NOT for everyone !

Final note :
The "true" Jaipur gharana gayaki has become rare now. For excelling in this gayaki, intense  disciplined efforts and intense training (talim) is needed from right kind of guru for years. Very few singers who label themselves belonging to Jaipur - Atrauli gharana truly follow the traditional Jaipur gayaki. A general view in vouge is that , the current Jaipur gayaki is  diluted and made light by many of the singers in recent past. Some have introduced their own bandishes that dont match the philosophy and dhrupad tradition of Jaipur gayaki. Hence true Jaipur gayaki is preserved in only few currently living performers.  Vid Shruti Sadolikar-Katkar is one such true Jaipur ( and Haveli) performer and Teacher ( Guru ) who has preserved the tradition and continues to guide students.

Beautiful Ganesh idols - Ganpati Festival of Pune

Pune has been traditionally a cultural capital of Maharashtra and India. The Ganesh festival , also called Ganeshotsav, is one of the most popular and famous festivals of Pune with a cultural tradition of over 100 years !
Idols of Ganpati ( Ganesh) in Pune are known for their pristine beauty. Their eyes speak for themselves and illuminate a divine aura.
Here is a slideshow of some of the beautiful idols of Ganesh from Pune.

Here is  a link to the album of 2019 Visarjan Miravnuk in Pune from a facebook page

The Ganeshotsav in Pune is also popular for the traditional bands (troupes) of  "Dhol-Tasha" , also called pathak (पथक ). The rhythmic plays of Dhol , Tasha , zhanj along with the dancing of the Dhwaj ( ध्वज , Flag ) is the hallmark of the festival and Pune.
Here is a facebook page that is dedicated to the Pune's Dhol-Tasha pathak culture

OSHO: Meaning and Versatility of the word ‘FUCK’

"After Friedrich Nietzsche declared that "God is Dead" - the word FUCK has become the most important word in the English language."

I watched this video of Osho and realized how equanimous he is during the sermon. The best part of the video is in final few seconds when he comments , "It clears your throat" and smiles. That smile is one of the best I have seen ... one must watch this 7 minute video till the end at least for that smile !

In this video, Osho speaks over the versatile use of the English word “Fuck”. It is one of the most interesting words in English language today. Osho says that there are not many words with the versatility of fuck. Besides the sexual meaning, there are also the following uses:

Ignorance: Fucked if I know.

Trouble: I guess I am fucked now!

Fraud: I got fucked at the used car lot.

Aggression: Fuck you!

Displeasure: What the fuck is going on here?

Difficulty: I can’t understand this fucking job.

Incompetence: He is a fuck-off.

Suspicion: What the fuck are you doing?

Enjoyment: I had a fucking good time.

Request: Get the fuck out of here.

Hostility: I’m going to knock your fucking head off.

Greeting: How the fuck are you?

Apathy: Who gives a fuck?

Innovation: Get a bigger fucking hammer.

Surprise: Fuck! You scared the shit out of me!

Anxiety: Today is really fucked.

Come September !

"Come September
Everything wrong gonna be alright
Come September"

Come September is one of the most popular instrumental tunes, liked and played by every guitarist or musician one time or the other while learning any musical instrument. The tune is part of the musical theme of an old classic Hollywood movie "Come September", also called its theme song.
This tune was one of my firsts that I had played on almost every instrument that I played , from Guitar to Banjo to Harmonium to Piano to Accordion !!
Many musicians all over world have got "inspired" from this tune and have composed songs in various languages including in Bollywood and Hindi.
Here is a playlist of some of the collections curated from youtube.

I also came across a song called Come September by Natalie Imbruglia that I liked.. a bit of melancholy but with a hope !

Come September

Her bones will ache, her mouth will shake
And as the passion dies her magic heart will break
She'll fly to France, but there's no chance
No hope for Cinderella
Come September
Everything wrong gonna be alright
Come September
Her violet sky, will need to cry
And if it doesn't rain then everything will die
She needs to heal, she needs to feel
Something more than tender
Come September
Everything wrong gonna be alright
Come September
The souls that burn will twist and turn
And find you in the dark no matter where you run
she's made her mark but lost her spark
And what she's looking for she can't remember
Everything wrong gonna be alright
Come September
Her eyes surrender her cries
A crying shame
Comin' undone is she aver gonna feel tha same
She will run, she's gonna drink the sun
Shining there for you instead of everyone
And so it goes she'll stand alone
And try not to remember
Come September
Everything wrong gonna be alright
Come September

Ken Burns : The West , The Civil War

Documentary making is one of the best forms of artistic expression and Ken Burns is one of the best in this practice ! Period !
In 2002 , I had bought my first DVD on @Amazon . It was Ken Burn's  "The West"
Had watched the series on PBS  in US and had decided to "invest" my money !!
This series of PBS is still one of my favorites ..
Every word , every sentence in the script , every note in the background music and every pause and silence takes the story ahead.. sprinkled with philosophy on facts and history, it is not just entertaining but enlightening !
I like these films and miniseries more because of my liking for the American West and Wild West along with History.  But besides that bias, they are one of the finest of documentaries otherwise.
The Series "The CivilWar" and "The West" are some of the finest creations and are a must watch for connoisseurs of History , art , film making , philosophy or literature.
The Civil War : Captures the times and history of the young nation called United State , between 1860 until 1867 , when it started maturing as a country from the early start as a collection of federal states.
The West is a story of Wild West, starting from the early Gold Rush to the settling of the modern cities of West from Kansas to California , from Texas to Oregon !

My strong recommendation to anyone who is interested in any of the faculties of film making , documentary making , history , philosophy , literature , English language , music , background scores of just human life and psychology.

Short film .. A tweet with a story , a poem , a portrait !

My interest in Short films is recent. I like the concept more in the background of digital revolution as we have moved from reading to watching movies to reading blogs to microblogs like Twitter. Being a fan of old Twitter (140 characters) , being precise and brief is what attracts me. The content and story telling / screenplay plays a major role in such films.
I was trying to understand why Short films are more attractive ( and good ones really difficult to make ) than long films.
Here are some of the quotes that I liked about short films ..

Short film: you can be poetic and you don't have to answer anything. You can make whatever you want. You have creative freedom with short film.

But short films are not inferior, just different. I think the short gives a freedom to film-makers. What's appealing is that you don't have as much responsibility for storytelling and plot. They can be more like a portrait, or a poem.

I think that short films often contain an originality, a creative freedom, an energy and an invention that is inspiring and entertaining. I made shorts films, learning the dos and don'ts. Short films are good, especially since independent films are making waves now, more than before.

Length of a Short Film: ‘A short film can be anything from thirty seconds to thirty minutes in length –and this means they can do and be a great many different things. However, ifyou want to get your short into a festival, then keep it to no more than tenminutes. Remember: you can tell a great story in as little as 30 seconds. Andchances are, the longer the short, the more expensive it will be to produce

Bal Gandharva -

Narayan Shripad Rajhans, better known as Bal Gandharva (26 June 1888 – 15 July 1967), was a Marathi singer and stage actor. He was famous for his roles in female characters in Marathi plays, as  women were not allowed to act on stage during that era.
The title "Bal Gandharva" was bestowed upon him by Lokmanya Tilak, after his  singing performance in Pune. "Bal Gandharva" in Marathi  literally translates to  "Young Gandharva" from heaven , Heavenly voice !

Vitthal Paanduranga -

Vitthal Paanduranga chanting by the devotees from South India ( North Karnataka region )
Simple but very catchy rhythm and tune. Watch the steps, and devotion of these devotees of Vitthal !

Bhakti Marg, the path of devotion , is hallmark of the "Vaishnavs" .. Vishnu , Krishna, Ram and Vitthal are some of the incarnations that unify Vaishnavites ..
From Guruvayur in the South to Pandharpur in Middle India to Vrindavan in the North , there is a string that unites Vaishnavs.
In the month of Ashaadh (आषाढ ) , around month of July , folks of Vaishnavs , devotees of Vitthal of Pandharpur celebrate "Vaari" ... chant the name of Vitthal and walk for 15 days from Alandi ( आळंदी ) to Pandharpur ( पंढरपूर )

PuLa ani Pilu - Are Vedyaa manaa talamalasi

Zehaal-e Miskeen Makun Ba-Ranjish : The brilliance of Gulzar and Amir Khusrow Dehalavi

There are some poetic creations that attract people to the language. "Zehaal - e Miskeen" is one of them !
This was a poetic creation by the poet-scholar- sufi musician of 13th century .. Amir Khusrow Dehalavi. Khusrow had influence of many languages , cultures and religions in his creations, namely Persian , Hindustani (Urdu) , Hindi and Braj ( also called Khadi boli of Hindi). His compositions had mix of words and phrases from all these languages. Khusrow has been interpreted by every artist in his own way, giving a new meaning to his creations every time one comes across them. Has influenced and inspired many artists and their creations in last eight-nine decades !
The beauty of Khusrow's creations was that even the modern day poets like Gulzar got influenced to the extent that he borrowed few lines from his quintessential creation "Zehaal -e Miskeen bakun taghaaful " to a song in Hindi movie (Gulam,1985) - "Zehaal -e Miskeen Makun Ba-Ranjish"
  Zihaal-e-Miskeen maqun ba-ranjish Full Video Song 1080p ghulami (1985) - YouTube

Zehaal-e Miskeen Makun Ba-Ranjish
Ba-Haal-e-Hijraan Bechaara Dil Hai
Sunnaaee Detee Hai Jiskee Dhadkan,
Tumhaara Dil Yaa Hamaaraa Dil Hai

The very unique thing about this poem is that every couplet of this poem has one line, the first, in Persian followed by a second line in the then Lingua Franca of Delhi called Khadi Boli (खड़ी बोली).

The original song was composed by Amir Khusro as:
ز حال مسکین مکن تغافل ورائے نیناں بنائے بتیاں
ज़े-हाले-मिस्कीन मकुन तग़ाफ़ुल; वराए नैना बनाए बतियां।
Zehaal-e Miskeen Makun Taghaaful (Persian)
Varaaye Nainaa Banaae Batiyan (Khadi Boli)
Translation:
Do not overlook (Makun Taghaaful) the Condition of the Poor/Miserable Me (Zehaal-e-Miskeen),(While You're) Blandishing (Your) Eyes (Varaaye Nainaa), and Weaving Tales (Banaaye Batiyaan)

The brilliant Gulzar adapted this for a song for the movie Ghulami (1985) as:
ज़े -हाले-मिस्कीन मकुन ब-रंजिश; ब-हाले-हिज्रां बेचारा दिल है।
सुनाई देती है जिसकी धड़कन, तुम्हारा दिल या हमारा दिल है।
(मिस्कीन/मस्कीन = ग़रीब, बेचारा, Wretched, Poor Fellow)

Zehaal-e Miskeen Makun Ba-Ranjish (Persian)
Ba-Haal-e-Hijraan Bechaara Dil Hai (Urdu)
Sunnaaee Detee Hai Jiskee Dhadkan,
Tumhaara Dil Yaa Hamaaraa Dil Hai
Translation:
Do not (Makun) look at the Condition (Ze-Haal) of the Poor Miserable Me (Miskeen) with Anger (Ba-Ranjish) (As My) Poor Heart (Bechaaraa Dil) is in the State of Separation (Ba-Haal-e-Hijraan) (from My Beloved) The (One) Heart, Whose Beats Are Audible,
Is It Yours or Mine!? (Our Hearts Are Beating in Sync… They Have Become One!)

The music was composed by the great duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal; Lata Mangeshkar and Shabbir Kumar were the singers.
The Lead Actors Were Mithun Chakraborty and Anita Raj

Gulzar Sahab's Couplets in the Song Are Marvelous!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wo Aake Pahloo Mein Aise Baithe… Ke Shaam Rangeen Ho Gayee Hai
Zaraa-Zaraa Si Khilee Tabeeyat… Zaraa Si Ghamgeen Ho Gaee Hai
She came and sat beside me in a way that the evening has turned colourful (or pleasant for me)! My mood that was a little cheerful (till then) turned a little gloomy (though) (Why? Because she is still reluctant or hesitant to accept my love!)

Kabhee-Kabhee Shaam Aise Dhalti Hai, Jaise Ghoonghat Utar Rahaa Hai
Tumhaare Seene Se Unthtaa Dhunaa Hamaare Dil Se Guzar Rahaa Hai
Sometimes the evening passes by the way the veil is lifted (gradually from the bride's face)! (The bright sunlight of the day acts as veil that hides the moon and the stars! As the evening progresses, this bright veil gets lifted gradually making the beautiful moon and stars visible).
The smoke (of sadness) rising from your chest is passing through my heart! (Your sorrows are not just yours; they penetrate my heart as well!)

Ye Sharm Hai! Yaa, Hayaa Hai! Kyaa Hai? Nazar Uthaate Hi Jhuk Gaee Hai
Tumhaaree Palkon Se Gir Ke Shabnam Hamaaree Aankhon Mein Ruk Gaee Hai
Is this your shyness! Or, is it your modesty? What's it? The gaze got lowered as soon as it was raised! (Meanwhile) the dew drops (the tears) that fell from your eyelids have got settled in my eyes! (The tears flowing from your eyes have always made my eyes tearful!)

June : My favorite month of the year

June is my favorite month of the year. Here is a post in Marathi written earlier on June 12th, 2015 on my wordpress blog.
